A canvas curtain hung, the lights went off, and three spotlights swirled to circus music as the curtain was raised, kicking off the Traveling Circus and Medicine Show with Adam and the rest of Maria Bamford on stage at a little after 8, joined by all the band members of Notar and Augustana.
